He got the idea that his touches and teasings were successful. Sora mentally smirked to himself and continued on. This time, however, his extra hand sneaked up the little silver zipper on Riku’s black undershirt. Sora took hold of it and yanked it down. After that he lightly drew his fingers over Riku’s chest, making little patterns and random zigzags. “What about this..?” Sora breathed in question to his new technique.
He quickly reached up in response to Sora’s new attack, quickly putting it over the other’s in an attempt to try and halt his movements. “I-it tickles..!” The words were a mix of gasps and quiet giggles— he couldn’t help it.
“Really? Mannnn… I was hoping for more teasing,” Sora pouted and poked Riku in the stomach again. If he was going to ruin the mood, it might as well be with laughter.
Riku bit down on his lip, squirming even more, “Soraaa~!” He whined, squeezing his eyes shut, little blubbers of laughter escaping here and there, “S-stop it..~!”
“Fiiiine~” Sora stopped and chuckled to himself. Even though he loved Riku’s laugh, he wanted to talk with him. “So, ah, Riku…” he began.
Riku tipped his head to the side curiously at that, offering a small smile, “Mm? What is it?” He asked, leaning a bit closer to him.
“Well, uh… There’s been something I’ve been meaning to get off my chest for a.. while now,” Sora cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. “You I really care you you, right..? Its obvious we both care for each other but… in this sense I’m talking about something more than just liking.”
“A-ah..” Riku felt a soft blush spread across his features once again, “..What, you’re wondering if I’m okay with that..?” He asked quietly, then chuckled, “Heh…You really are slow, aren’t you Sora~? I’d thought I’ve made it obvious by now that I feel the same.” He paused, blush getting a bit darker, “..A lot more than just liking..”
Sora’s face turned red as well. “I mean… We do stuff that best friends don’t normally do. like.. We’ve touched each other for one…” Sora muttered the last part. He shook his head and continued. “But… We’ve never actually said it, have we?” Sora didn’t wait for a response. He lowered his head and his voice dropped a bit. “The girl I was talking to said for me to tell you how I feel so…” Now or never Sora. The brunette lifted his head up, looked Riku right in the eyes and spoke.
“I love you, Riku. I’ve loved you ever since we were kids, every time I saw you on our first journey I wanted nothing more than to help you. And when I finally found you in The World That Never Was… I… I really do love you Riku.”
That blush stayed as dark as could be as he gently pulled Sora in close, carefully petting the other’s hair. Riku rested his chin atop the brown spikes and closed his eyes, “Heh..finally, you let it out..~” He chuckled lightly— teasing, as always, even at a time like this. “You know how long I’ve been waiting to hear that~? Hah, you’ve no idea how much turmoil these emotions have brought me,” He lightly poked the younger’s nose, laughing softly, “One of the main things that lead me into the Darkness was my jealousy for you and Kairi. I wanted you all to myself, to say the least.”
He paused a moment before shaking his head, “But, that’s not the point,” He carefully took Sora’s chin in his fingers, tilting his head to a more comfortable position for the older male, “But that’s besides the point. I love you, too, Sora. Always have, always will~”
